Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my concern regarding an incident that occurred on August 15, 2024, at JFK Airport, where I was delayed due to a
security
issue, ultimately causing me to miss my flight, AA102 to London, which was scheduled to depart at 10:00 AM.
I arrived at the airport at 7:30 AM, allowing ample time for check-in and
security
clearance. However, the security
checkpoint process was unexpectedly prolonged, and I was delayed for over an hour. Despite arriving early, there was minimal communication from airport staff regarding the cause of the delay. By the time I cleared security
, my gate had closed, and I missed my flight.This delay caused significant disruption to my plans, including missing an important business meeting in London at 2:00 PM. Additionally, I incurred extra costs of $200 for rebooking a later flight and $150 for an unplanned overnight stay at a hotel.
I kindly request that the airport authority review this situation and consider compensating me for the additional expenses I incurred due to the delay.
