Thesis Statement
information
.On one hand, many individuals can now access
information
and learning
materials previously unavailable to them. Internet
access
can help people in rural areas learn
more about the world even though they do not have access
to physical libraries or learning
institutions like universities. This will substantially decrease inequality in the education levels of all citizens, as more individuals can now learn
and attain knowledge. For instance, students in the countryside that who previously have had limited
access
to credible physical learning institutions can now
learn
more about general subjects such as Physics, Mathematics, and Biology through a single e-
learning
app on their smartphones/computers.
On the other hand, online
information
access
brings great concern to many people. Some people think that materials obtained from the internet
are unreliable and may lead them to mistakes and incorrect information
. This can greatly affect those who are learning
through the internet
, especially pupils who are studying through e-learning. Without filtering or parental advisory, these materials can greatly alter students’ common sense
and conceptual thinking. For example, students can find homework answers on the internet
and may blindly use them without even checking the credibility of the answers. In conclusion, I inherently believe that the advantages of this type of digital
information
do not outweigh the disadvantages, as it can be dramatically disadvantageous when there is no selective behaviour or filtering of information
.
