Thesis Statement
people
are facing a great numbers
of various advertisements on the daily basis, which can drastically affect their preferences in purchases. Some say that it can help to explore new products and services. But what are the advantages and disadvantages of this trend? In this essay, I will examine the pros and cons of ads
and try to draw some conclusions. One of the main benefits is that advertisements can encourage
people
to buy more sustainable items and even help to fight against fast fashion and overconsumption. In other words, more individuals will be aware of dreadful
consequences for our nature and society that uncontrollable consumerism often brings. Another advantage is that ads
may inspire people
to try something new and explore services and goods, which they have never tried. On the other hand, advertising usually promotes
overconsumerism
among its audience. Unfortunately, many people
are starting to throw away goods, which can be fixed or used for a longer period of time. As a result, these items create a lot of pollution and emissions, which are very harmful for our environment. Another disadvantage is that it is usually very hard for individuals to choose a product by themselves if advertisers already shaped a person's perceptions and habits. This often leads to the lack of critical thinking and the abilities to choose something for yourself among humans. To sum up,
despite the fact that
ads
often seem like a great tool for many humans, they have a lot of flaws . Personally, I believe that this trend can be really practical and even helpful; however, people
should not completely rely on ads
, especially in the matter of their preferences and purchases.
