Thesis Statement
Technology
, as we know it, is rapidly evolving and has made a tremendous impact in
peoples
lives.
For instance, in
communication
.
Its
no surprise
communication
would be
affected
, as
communication
has always played a huge part in history and daily lives. Furthermore, the rapid evolution of
technology
has also
affected
dynamics of
different
people
with their
families
, but specifically, what is the impact of this revolution?
To start, we have to
talk
about
the first ever revolutionary piece of
technology
that truly
affected
communication
with
families
: the telephone; a device that lets
people
communicate
long
distances with their most loved ones. The kickstarter of it all, it introduced a new
way
for
people
to
talk
to one another with their voices, opposed to sending letters with carrier pigeons. As a result, more and more
people
started
talking
with
their
families
and friends way more often, as the
communication
was no longer halted by
long
wait times for messages.
Consequently
as time progresses, a new revolution for
communication
was due.
Smartphones were introduced much later on, and even
till
this day, it
becomes
the most prominent
way
of communicating. A handheld device that fits into any pocket, able to
communicate
with anyone around the globe,
it's
no wonder it
became
as big as it is today. To say that it massively revolutionized the
communication
industry is an understatement, the phone allowed
people
to
communicate
to
one another with many
different
ways
of
communication
, for example video
calls
and emails. Hence,
people
no longer had issues or problems if they wanted to speak with their
families
, despite the
long
distances or
different
timezones that used to be problems. Furthermore,
family
gatherings also
became
much more lively, as
families
can now call any of their other relatives via video
calls
or normal
calls
and experience them together, even if they were
seperated
.
In conclusion,
technology
has revolutionized the industry, some may be good, some may be bad. Despite that,
communication
has taken a turn for the better, and I think most
families
around the world would agree with me.
