Thesis Statement
people
think that despite the importance of public
transportation in relieving congestions and traffic issues in cities
, it often lackes
quality and does not cover all of the needed areas
. I agree with that opinion
as there are undeniable benefits and limitations, which will be discussed in this essay
.It is evident that the
precense
of public
transit is essential in densely populated places, such as city
centers
. These areas
are typically congested because they contain most of the working places and entertainment facilities. If more people
used
the shared busses
, for example, to commute to those areas
, there would be less
congestions as more individuals are using
the same vehicle instead of separate ones. Additionally, cities
nowadays beneift
from using
underground metro stations to further decrease the sprawl on the roads. That is manifested in major cities
such as london
, where the underground system is perfectly utilized to transport people
to and from congested areas
.On the other hand, the service provided by the transportation system might be negatively affected. That mainly due to the increased number of population living in the
cities
, which cannot be matched by the exisitng
resources. In other words, there is a limited number of vehicles allowed on the road with an increasing number of people
using
it. That results in decreasing quality and efficiency. Moreover, there are certain areas
that are not covered by public
transportation, especially in the outskirts of cities
. Establishing reliable tranport
to these places can be quite challenging for the goverments
. That is becuase
the overwhelming financial burduns
of paving roads and constructing the infrastructure needed for them.In conclusion,
public
transpotation
plays a vital role in relieving traffic issues in urban areas
, but it needs improvments
in the quality of the service provided and the plces
covered.
