Thesis Statement
Parents
typically apply varied ways of parenting that are said to affect their
children
's personalities and future success. In this essay,
I will discuss
how specific parenting styles manifest in their
children
's success when they
grow
into adults.
Children
typically absorb knowledge by observing their surroundings and the people they are frequently around, which in most cases are the
parents
. As they
grow
older, they soon learn how to repeat their words and eventually adapt their habits. These sets of
behaviors
soon transform into belief systems that significantly affect how they cope with failure and how they manage uncomfortable situations.
Although
parents
are not the only people
children
are exposed to during their formative years, they are the first individuals
children
will likely model themselves after. When a father raises his voice at his son to discipline him, the
child
may
grow
up to believe that it is normal to speak that way to a family member. Similarly, when a daughter is constantly around her
mother who is gentle
, that
child
will likely
grow
up with the same temperament towards others.
In summary,
children
often learn by example and gradually adopt their
parents
'
behaviors
when they transition into adulthood. Even if
parents
are not the sole determinants of a
child
's future success, their words and actions are still highly impactful when it comes to their overall development.
