Thesis Statement
It's
argued that people should become vegeterian
as they do not have to consume meat
to have a healthy
diet
. I do not completely
agree with this statement. While vegeterianism
brings several benefits
to human beings, it still has various drawbacks. In this essay, I will elaborate on my own perspectives with this view.On the one hand, I agree that the most significant
benefit
is that this kind of diet
helps reduce several chronic diseases such as heart disease, obesity or cancers. This is because plant-based foods
consume less cholesterol. Additionally, vegeterianism
also reduce the harmful
of gases and wastes produced by farms where castle is raised, hence can slow down the greenhouse effect and eventually global warming. As we all know, every animal
emits a large amount of methane gas, which contributes to the greenhouse effect, so if we cut down on livestock farming to grow vegetables, it will be very beneficial to the environment. On the other hand,
meat
can nourish our body more than plant-based foods
can. For example, a vegeterian
diet
can lack certain nutrients such as zinc, iron, and vitamins, which are essential for healthy
growth and development whereas a large amount of those are found in meat
. Furthermore, some individuals may struggle to follow a vegetarian diet
due to their cultural or religious beliefs. For instance, some cultures and religions may consider the consumption of certain animal
products to be essential for good health. Some meat
-eaters argue that animals
are below human in the food
chain, therefore
it is completely natural for humans to kill them for food
.In conclusion, while vegetarianism can provide a various health
benefits
, I still disagree that everyone should quit eating meat
to become a vegan because meat
is an indispensable ingredient in a healthy
diet
.
