Question
Tourism is a major economic driver for many regions, but popular destinations often suffer from over-tourism, which can lead to environmental degradation and a lower quality of life for local residents. On the other hand, sustainable tourism practices aim to minimize these impacts and ensure long-term benefits for both tourists and host communities.
To what extent do you agree or disagree that the benefits of sustainable tourism outweigh the negative impacts of over-tourism?

Thesis Statement
tourism
has become a popular sector in increasing the revenue of a country
. But does it come with some loss as well? Some argued that tourism
is bringing many benefits for the economy, however
I would say that selling your country
for tourism
will give the disadvantages of nature as well.Firstly, if a large number of
tourists
visited
a country
that means more money turnover happens. It is directly proportional with the increase of
the economy. In addition, tourism
can help local culture to be known to the outer world. For instance, Balinese dancing is now very popular among the tourists
since it is becoming a main attraction when you visit
Indonesia. Having foreigners around also helps the locals to be exposed to new knowledge, such as
learning a new language.However, when a
country
can not
control the tourist
number
it can lead to over tourism
issues and devastating destruction that follows. The more popular a country
, the more visitors come. As a result, the increasing number of accommodations due to massive demand for rooms pushed the exploitation of resources such as
clean water. Furthermore, if there are no clear regulations, the over tourism
also creates traffic, especially in most visited
tourist
attraction spots. To illustrate, in Indonesia nowadays, traffic jams happen in most of the cities that rank as the best places to visit
such as
Bali, Yogyakarta and Solo.In conclusion, although
tourism
brings massive amounts of cash and knowledge to the locals, I would argue that the damage of
tourism
is inevitable. As I mentioned above, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages, tourism
without good regulation will destroy the local itself, including its nature.
