Thesis Statement
people
have discussed implementing free public transport
to reduce traffic and pollution problems. This suggestion has drawbacks as well as benefits and I believe that, this consideration's potential benefits significantly
surpass its drawbacks. It seems that this suggestion has some drawbacks. Firstly, it would cost a fortune for the
governments
, since without any payment for transportation, they would be the only funders of drivers and the transports
' cost. This would result in problems for governments
' other areas of improvements such as education, and would need a cut to cover the transport
expenses in order to not damage the budget significantly
. In addition, despite significant reducements
in traffic congestion on roads , traffics in railways and subways would significantly
increase which puts additional pressure on governments
to expand the railroads and the number of trains. Thus, this consideration can result in increased expenses for governments
alongside with further improvements
in the railway area.Nevertheless, I believe that the benefits of free transportation are considerably more. Firstly, due to
people
not driving excessively on roads, the air pollution which is the main problem of many countries can be prevent
and as a result
the environment in those countries can be improved significantly
over some period. Furthermore, it would significantly
cut the spendings of population on transport
. Many people
either drive to get to work on a car which needs oil, regular checking which costs a big amount
of money, or, use several busses
and trains to reach their destination and to come home . Thus, as a result of freeing transport
for the people
, it would result in environmental improvements and also cut the expenses of people
for transport
.In conclusion, there are some disadvantages of making
trasnport
free such as excessive pressure on governments
. Nevertheless, I believe that the advantages of this development significantly
outweighs the disadvantages.
