cultural
identity. While it is true that in a more linked world we are exposed to different
values everyday
, that doesen't
automatically pose a threat to cultural
identity. The history of human kind
is a history of continuous exchange
between different
cultures
. Many
of the traditions
and traits that are tipical
to
a country
are the result of centuries of exchanges
and influences with other nations. If we delve deeper, and we
abandond
prejudice, we can learn that many
of the country
that exists
today were once splitted
contended different
populations that had different
rules, laws and traditions
. It is thus crucial to recognize that, what we pretentiously call "our culture
", is just the result of years and years of exchange
and evolution.Missing Linking Devices
culture
, globalization has improved mutual understanding, allowing different
populations to experience and appreciate traditions
of different
countries
and enabling a truly global excange
of opinions and thoughts.Istinctively we, as humans, fear what we
aren't
familiar with. If we invest in an intercultural comunication
, we can ensure that many
of the differences that we percieve
(just because we are citizens of different
nations) are culturally understood rather judged.Unfortunately
cultural
differencies
have often been used as a criteria
to make moral judgments or to justify wars and atrocities. Globalization has helped the younger generations to understand that we are more equal than
different
and that we can cooperate to build a better world for those who will come after us without having to sacrifice our individuality and our
traditions
.
