Thesis Statement
Food
is a basic survival necessity for human beings. The body of humans runs
of
the energy produced by the kind of nourishment the body consumes. Ever since the dawn of humankind, we have survived on
a variety of
diets that
includes
both vegetables that we learnt to produce and
meat
which we reared from cattle. Humans require a uniform concoction of nutrients that comes from both of the types. As we evolved to the modern man, we dumped all notions of healthy eating and shifted to a more easily available diet of
fast
food
.
Fast
food
is, in simple terms, a diet that is made from highly processed
food
.
In the contemporary era where everyone has a tight schedule with no time for cooking, processed or
fast
foods
come as a relief because they are affordable and easily accessible at any cafe. People
don't
require a kitchen or cooking skills
and
they can easily have tasty meals from the comfort of their homes or restaurants. It can
also
be preferred if consumers have a daily commute and
don't
have time to cook. Consuming
fast
food
also
supports locals and communities that are the backbone of various eateries. The
food
also
helps to lighten the mood of people on a stressful day.
Fast
food
also
has a negative aspect to it.
Majority
of the ingredients used are unhealthy to be eaten.
Fast
food
also
contains saturated
fats
which
is
clinically proven to be harmful to humans. The
food
also
lacks nutrients like vitamins and minerals that our body requires. Sometimes, cooking at home can
also
be cheaper and healthier. Artificial ingredients added to the
food
can
also
make it addictive to us.
Fast
food
is
also
packed in calories that
makes
it an
unpreferred
choice for weight loss. People can
also
suffer from digestive issues if they over-consume
fast
food
. The
food
can
also
contain allergens which can cause harm to the person eating it without any knowledge.
Conclusively,
fast
food
is a good choice if eaten on a
limit otherwise
it can become addictive.
