but
it costs us a lot interms
of money
and risk
to human life
and property. This short essay tries to elaborate on the pros and cons of the space
missions
.Beneficieries of the
space
experiments are on
every nook and corner of the planet. Telecommunication revolutionized the speed of the life
, which has been only made possible by artificial satellites sent by humans. Many of the recent natural calamities like cyclones have been accurately predicted by weather forcasting
satellites, which is another advantage of extra terrestrial explorations. Because these predictions have helped governments to save lives
and property of people in affected areas, one can easily say that benefits are there for spending huge money
on it. Now, we are exploring other planets for possible life
, which will enable us to move to another planet if our Earth is not habitable. However, there are arguments against
space
programes
around the world. British
medias have
ridiculed indian
lunar mission
for spending money
when thousands are not getting basic necessities in the country. This is correct when you think ethically
where you can utilize this money
to improve infrastructure and to eradicate poverty. Furthermore, the risk
for human life
and property are extremely high in such a mission
. The failure of Space X
mission
and tragic death of astronauts in columbia
space shuttle are notorious instances for the argument. To conclude, the
space
programmes carry risks
but
they are equally beneficial too. One should always do a risk
-benefit analysis before approving such missions
. Thus
they become a success.
