Overall, crime rates in New York, Los Angeles, and Houston showed a consistent upward trend, while Chicago's crime rates fluctuated slightly but remained high relative to the other cities.
New York experienced the most significant rise in crime rate, starting at 5.2% in 2015 and climbed to 6.5% in 2020 an increase of 1.3 percentage points. Los Angeles and Houston also saw significant increases from 6.5% and 7.3% in 2015, then rises to 7.3% and 7.6%. Chicago had the highest percentage of crime rate in 2015 starts at 8.1%
