The pie charts above show the resources used to meet the energy consumption of the United States and Canada. All resources are broken down into 5 main categories: coal, natural gas, nuclear,
renewable
and oil. The first chart shows data for the USA, while the lateral chart schematizes data for Canada.Overall, it can be seen that the ranking of preferred sources is mostly the same for both countries. Energy produced using nuclear power and coal differs for each country. Coal is second in the US with 20%, while nuclear is more preferred in Canada. The majority of energy consumption
relys on
non-renewable
sources. While the United States produces a quarter of its energy from renewable
sources, this rate rises to around 30 per cent in Canada. However, renewable
energy options are not the least common, but rather oil, which has a share of 10% in both states. In conclusion, despite some
differences
both countries show numerous similarities in energy consumption preferences.
