The pie chart illustrates the transportation modes -Train, Bus, Car, Bicycle, and
walking- people
prefer in Tokyo and London in 2022. Overall, it can be observed that taking the train for traveling
seems like the most popular choice in both cities.Although the train is the most prevalent transportation mode, it saw a decline in its percentage from 50% in Tokyo, to 35% in London. Considering
, that
Tokyo is one of of
the best economic, high-tech cities in the world, it is only logical that the train would be more popular than it is in London. Following this, the bus is the second most common mode with percentage
of 20% in Tokyo, and higher by 5% in London, as many students and employees depend on the bus as their only convenient option for transportation.Conversely, car and bicycle almost equalize in both cities, with
car
peaking at 15% in Tokyo, and 20% in London. This indicates the widespread traffic issue, societies face worldwide. Similarly, bicycle starts with 10% in Tokyo and rises to 15% in London, which suggests that London offers wider and less technological systemized streets and roads that are suitable for biking. As for walking, it records the lowest percentage at 5% in both cities, labeled
as the least preferred transportation mode among people. Provided that walking consumes a lot of effort and depends on the weather, it is not a popular choice in practical, large cities with extreme weathers like Tokyo and London.
