The graph shows the percentage of change in body mass index (BMI) for adults in four regions from 2013 to 2019. Overall, all of the regions showed upward trends over the period given.
In
2013
the highest percentage of BMI was seen in North America, accounted for approximately 28.5%. The percentage then slightly increase during the following years and reached its peak in 2019 at around 29.5%, making North American as the highest BMI population over the period given. Furthermore, the second highest BMI region in the beginning was South America, starting at 27%. The trend only showed a little growth by 0.5% within 6 years. Similarly, Europe also experienced the same trend, starting at about 25.5% in 2013, then reached 26% at the end of the period. The lowest percentage of BMI in the figure was seen in Asia from 2013 to 2019. The trend started at 23% and ended at around 23.5%, making Asia as the lowest BMI region over the six-year period.
