The bar chart shown represents the annual deforestation rates (in hectares) of Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, and Venezuela throughout the years of 2010 to 2020. Within the ten years, it can be seen from the bar chart that all five South American countries have their own fair share of deforestation rates. Out of the five, Brazil has the highest deforestation rate with 800.000 hectares within the decade. In comparison, the country with the lowest rates of deforestation is
Venezuela
with only 50.000 hectares. With a 750.000 hectares difference in deforestation rates between the two countries, it can be concluded that there is a rapid
increase of
deforestation rates in Brazil throughout the years of 2010 to 2020.
Following Venezuela, Argentina has the
second lowest
deforestation rates within the decade with only 150.000 hectares. Peru and Colombia are
more closer
in difference of deforestation
rates
with Colombia having 180.000 hectares of deforestation whilst Peru has 200.000 hectares. In conclusion, these are the five countries listed by their rates of annual deforestation from highest to lowest: Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, and lastly Venezuela.
