The bar chart illustrates the energy consumption in three sectors -
Residential
, Industrial, and Commercial - across four countries: Canada, Germany, China, and Brazil, in 2020.In terms of overall energy consumption, China leads with the highest figures in all sectors, particularly the
industrial
sector, consuming 1,200 TWh. Germany follows with significant energy usage in the industrial
sector (950 TWh), while Canada and Brazil report lower totals, with Brazil being the lowest in all categories.Comparing the
residential
and industrial
sectors, industrial
energy consumption consistently surpasses residential
usage in Canada, Germany, and China. In Canada, industrial
energy use is 800 TWh compared to 500 TWh in the residential
sector. Similarly, in Germany, industrial
consumption (950 TWh) is substantially higher than residential
(600 TWh). China exhibits the largest discrepancy, with 1,200 TWh in the industrial
sector and 700 TWh in residential
use. Brazil, however, presents a closer balance, with industrial
consumption at 700 TWh and residential
at 550 TWh.A key trend is the dominance of
industrial
energy consumption across all countries, with China standing out for its significantly higher usage, especially in comparison to its residential
and commercial sectors.
