In both cities, the train and metro were the most significant modes of transportation. The train and metro were used the most in Tokyo and Paris, accounting for 50.0% and 30.0%, respectively. The share of train usage increased significantly in Tokyo, reaching almost 50%.
Bus usage saw a notable decrease, dropping to 20.0% in Tokyo and 25.0% in Paris. Car services in Paris increased by 5%, replacing car usage in Tokyo.
The remaining three modes of transportation—bicycle, walking, and other vehicles—accounted for approximately 10.0% in both countries. Walking was the least used mode of transportation, with Paris showing a higher walking percentage of 10.0%, compared to Tokyo.
