A visualization of the water usage within four of Africa's major regions from 2010 to 2020 can be seen in the given line chart.
At a glimpse, it is shown that North Africa remains the region with the highest water consumption within the decade. West Africa was able to match Southern Africa's water usage in 2014 before eventually surpassing it in 2016. On the other hand, Southern Africa's water use depicts a slight dip in 2017 before recovering in the years that follow. Meanwhile, East Africa was once the region to use the least amount of water before eventually catching up to Southern Africa.
North Africa's recorded consumption is seen to grow by 5 units every year since
2010
which
as a result, has allowed the area to retain its top spot.
West Africa, meanwhile, sees an increase in water use of up to 10
units
allowing the region to widen its gap with Southern Africa and is projected to catch up to North Africa if it continues to grow at the same rate.
East Africa has also managed to match Southern Africa's water consumption of
90
which forecasts the likelihood of Southern Africa being the region with the least water usage.
